We run twice each year:
A 3 day holiday club in the final week of the winter school holidays.
A 2-3 day holiday club at the start of the summer school holidays.
A 3 day holiday club in the final week of the winter school holidays.
A 2-3 day holiday club at the start of the summer school holidays.
Each day runs from 9am-3.30pm.
During Winter Basecamp 2023, children can be dropped off from 8:30, but there is no after-hours program available.
Our full-time rate is around $35 a day per child, with a discounted rate for siblings. Activities at Basecamp include games, craft, cooking, Bible-based teaching, music, dance, and plenty more!
Campers begin and end each day all together as a large group. The rest of the day is spent in a mix of structured activity time and free play with other children in their age group, supervised and supported by trained leaders.
Basecamp is hosted by St John's Ashfield at 81 Alt St Ashfield.
- Excellence in quality of program.

Basecamp is run by a dedicated team of volunteers, lead by Ben and Saffron Davies.
In 2023 Basecamp is directed by Saffron and Ben.
Saffron's favourite thing about Basecamp is the craft.
Ben's favourite thing about Basecamp is the high-energy running games.
Saffron and Ben are a part of St John's Ashfield 6pm, and have been volunteering at Basecamp since 2018.
During Basecamp your child will be assigned to a small group of about 12 kids and two leaders
Basecamp is run by a team of about 40 leaders who lead small groups, run activities and supervise the out-of-school-hours program.
All of our Basecamp volunteers have completed safe ministry training and working with children checks in line with the NSW Government and Sydney Anglican Diocese protocols around safe ministry for children and vulnerable people.

DO I NEED TO PROVIDE FOOD FOR MY CHILDREN?
Yes, please pack lunch and morning tea for your child. Basecamp does not provide lunch or morning tea. We have a small cooking activity but it is not sufficient by itself; more an afternoon tea snack.
CAN I REGISTER MY CHILDREN PART TIME?
No, we no longer offer part time spots. The program is designed for children to attend the whole camp, and due to high demand we only accept full time registrations.
CAN MY CHILDREN BE IN THE SAME GROUP AS THEIR SIBLINGS/FRIENDS?
We put the campers into groups roughly based on age: PK-K, Year 1-2, and Year 3-6. If your children and their siblings/friends are similar ages but cross over the year boundaries, it’s likely that we can stretch; shoot Saffron and Ben an email at saffronjoymqn@gmail.com
WHEN CAN I DROP MY KIDS OFF/PICK MY KIDS UP?
The program starts at 9am and finishes at 3.30 pm. We also run a before hours program. You can drop off your kids anytime between 8:30am and 9am. There is no after hours program available for Winter Basecamp 2023.
THE WEBSITE SAYS THAT REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED. CAN MY CHILDREN STILL ATTEND?
We’re committed to making Basecamp the best holiday camp it can be, so we won’t take more kids than the number of leaders allows for. However, if you join the waiting list there’s a chance you’ll be offered a spot, either if our capacity increases or if other families pull out.
